In John 13, we see Jesus taking off his outer clothing and taking on the role of a servant, washing his disciples' feet before sharing the Passover meal with them. He explained to them afterwards, "Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you."
This is a familiar Scripture, but this year, as I shared it in Bible Club, it was impressed on me that the Lord is visibly working in the lives of the children in the program, and I am seeing God grow servant leaders before my eyes. The Lord is at work in their hearts, minds, and lives. How exciting! While I do not know what their future will hold, I know that He is preparing them intellectually and spiritually to be a leader in the spheres of influence in which He will place them.
It is a great privilege to witness the Lord's work in their lives. Father, would you shape each child into Your image and give them hearts of kindness, humility, strength, and courage.? Use them mightily in Your kingdom.
