Scripture: “The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.” Psalm 28:7 (NLT)
Today in Chapel, the speaker talked about how important it is to trust in God. As I was listening, I began to reflect on all the areas in my life that I fail to do this: when difficult issues come up in my life, when I become overwhelmed with responsibilities, when life just doesn’t seem to be on my side. I immediately begin to feel bad for myself. I question God and why He puts so many burdens in my life and I wonder what I am supposed to do to overcome them. When reading this Psalm, I am reminded that in those situations, I am to trust God. There are so many things that we can’t instantly understand about God; and one of those things is why He does what He does. God doesn’t always reveal his purpose for what is happening in our lives immediately, but in time, we begin to see that all the negative problems in life ended up bringing good.
Despite the hardships I have endured throughout my life, God has remained faithful. He has brought good to my life through the hard times and He has forced me to let go of my stress and sadness and trust in Him. How awesome is it that we can always be confident that The Lord, The Creator of this earth, has a plan for our lives! Although it is something we easily forget, God never forgets about us.
During times of stress, suffering, hardships, anxiety, and anything that you may be facing, it’s important to remember that God is faithful and has a plan for you, even if that plan isn’t clear to you.
